Benefits: What does the transformation mean to the user
As consumers, we are rarely interested in products/services themselves, opting instead to focus almost exclusively on the benefits these products/services bring to our lives.
Benefits are real-world examples of what your customers indirectly get to experience as a result of the outcomes achieved from the direct use of your product/service.
Examples:
- Keep your windows clean —> Improve visibility —> Enjoy your garden more
- Control your finances more efficiently —> Save money —> Treat yourself to something nice
- Maintain your website optimised —> Increase rankings —> Gain more visitors & enquiries
- Protect your house from intruders —> Stay safe —> Protect your family and possessions
- Prolong the shelf-life of your food —> Reduce waste —> Protect the environment
- Remain healthy —> Live Longer —> Do more of what you enjoy doing
- Repair your stone chips —> Prevent replacements —> Save for the future
Exercise:
Write down at least one (ideally more) benefit to each of the effects you identified in the previous exercise.
